Some Good News

Posted on January 17, 2009 at 11:55am.

This past week had some good news in the midst of all the hard stuff.  First 155 people walked off a crashed plane alive.  One of those was Gerry McNamara who along with his wife Debbie attend CaC.  It was truly an amazing scene to watch and it will be amazing to see the stories of life going forward.  TJ, who we have been praying for is out of the hospital, in a hotel and hopefully coming back home sometime next week - how thrilled I am for what God has done and will do through his life.

the last piece of good news I will share was the joy it was to sit at dinner with the vast majority of our supported missionaries this past week. What a great joy to see the span of years in which we as a church have been involved with the spreading of the gospel.  We had our longest supported missionary, Phyllis Baughman, over 33 years and our newest, Zach Fulginiti, less than one year both present.  These 25 individuals and families who we have a share in supporting represent the foundation of ServeGlobal and I am so grateful to them for their service to the Lord.  It seems you never have to look far for bad news, this week however the good news was easy to find.

I have been keeping up with TJ (name limited for security issues) the man we asked you to pray for and the news is good.  He has made improvement to the place that they haved removed the breathing tube and will be taking him out of ICU today.  They will then determine when it is safe for him to return to the States.  Thank you for your prayers and as the story unfolds of the past weeks it will be interesting to see how God uses this difficult event in people’s lives.
